Welcome to the website for the REA Solihull Branch
The REA Solihull Branch is for people who are currently receiving a pension from National Grid UK Pension Scheme, having previously worked for British Gas (later to become Transco plc) in the Solihull Area.
This Association currently has approximately 600 members, most of whom live in or close to the Solihull area, with others living in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. However, we do have some members who have chosen to remain members of this Association despite moving out of the area to various locations within the UK. We even have members who now live in France, Canada and South Africa. Members receive 3 newsletters each year. In January, details of our monthly meetings together with details of the year's trips are circulated. In April, following the Association's Annual General Meeting, a newsletter is circulated giving details of the committee together with a run down of the previous year's events and general news. In November, all members are sent a Solihull Branch REA diary for the following year together with details and an application form for the Christmas Lunch.
The Committee organises monthly meetings, usually with a guest speaker, details of which can be found on the "meetings" page of this site. A programme of trips/holidays is also arranged each year. Details of these can be found on the "trips" page of this site. We also hold a Christmas lunch each year which normally attracts around 100 members/guests.
Anybody wishing to join this Association should contact any member of the committee or email the Chairman by clicking this link.
The site is updated regularly so keep an eye on it for late changes to monthly meetings and news updates etc.
